Free Budget Help Available

If you are facing extra challenges this year with your personal finances, perhaps from a change in healthcare premiums, extra holiday spending, or just general rising prices, you might benefit from a free service offered through Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union.

Johns Hopkins FCU sponsors access to Accel, a financial counseling program, through which you can enjoy free and unlimited access to financial counselors. Whether you just have question about credit, want assistance with setting up a budget, or need a fully managed debt repayment plan, the service is available at no charge, and is completely confidential. JHFCU teamed up with Accel for financial education and counseling services including:

  • Personal and family budgeting
  • Understanding your personal credit report and how to improve your score
  • Personal money management
  • Debt repayment
  • Avoiding bankruptcy, foreclosure, and repossession, and more!

For more information, visit JHFCU’s website page about Accel at http://www.jhfcu.org/site/links.html#accel or you can call Accel at 1-877-33ACCEL (332-2235). Accel counselors are available Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. (EST), Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Let them know you were referred by Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union. The session is completely confidential, and JHFCU gets no record of names of callers. If you have any questions, call JHFCU at 410-435-4500 or email us at jhfcu-g@jhfcu.org.
