Breastfeeding Resources

According to the U.S. Surgeon General, one of the most highly effective measures a mother can take to protect the health of her infant and herself is to breastfeed. Additionally, as part of the recent Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA), Congress amended the Fair Labor Standards Act to provide breaks for nursing mothers.

Johns Hopkins University is committed to supporting nursing mothers in the workplace by providing lactation resources and directing employees to private space where they can express milk during the work day. Please visit the Office of Work, Life and Engagement’s website for lactation resources and a list of the facilities and contacts on each campus.
