Tips on Your 2011 Flexible Spending Accounts

As a reminder, as of January 1, over-the-counter medications without a prescription are no longer considered eligible Health Care FSA expenses. In addition, your WageWorks reimbursement card can only be used for 2011 expenses.

OTC Prescriptions – No Longer Eligible

Due to recent legislation, over-the-counter medications without a prescription will no longer be eligible expenses under the Health Care FSA starting January 1, 2011. Items that will remain eligible without a prescription include—but are not limited to—band aids, birth control, braces & supports, contact lens solutions & supplies, elastic bandages & wraps, first aid supplies, and reading glasses. WageWorks Reimbursement Card

Now that the 2011 plan year has begun, your WageWorks reimbursement card can only be used to access the elected amount from your 2011 FSA account. If you have eligible outstanding health care claims from 2010, you will need to seek reimbursement via the "Pay Me Back" process. You can log into your WageWorks account and do this electronically or use the claim form by April 30, 2011
