Learn More about Our New Critical Illness Insurance and Accident Insurance
We are pleased to announce two new voluntary insurance benefits that can help fill the gap between some of your core benefits.
Critical Illness Insurance
Critical Illness Insurance from MetLife is designed to give you the peace of mind needed to concentrate on recovery instead of your expenses. While it does not replace traditional medical or disability income insurance, MetLife Critical Illness Insurance provides a lump-sum payment in the event that you or a covered family member experience a critical medical condition and meet the policy and certificate requirements. Qualified medical conditions include:
- Heart Attack
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
- Kidney Failure
- Alzheimer’s Disease
From copays and deductibles to mortgage payments and child care, you can use the lump-sum payment as you see fit to help protect your family’s expenses so you can focus on getting better.
Accidents can happen anytime, anywhere. Colonial Life’s Accident Insurance helps offset the unexpected medical expenses, such as emergency room fees, deductibles and copayments that can result from a covered accident. Covered accidents include some common occurrences, such as:
- Sports-related accidental injuries
- Broken bones
- Back or knee injuries
Accident Insurance protects you by:
- Paying you a lump-sum benefit to help you with the care and treatment of a covered accidental injury.
- Paying you directly (unless you specify otherwise).
- Paying you regardless of any other insurance you may have with other insurance companies.
- Providing portable coverage; you can take it with you if you change jobs or retire.
