Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund accepting grant applications for the 2011 grant year.
Faculty, staff, retirees and students who are involved with nonprofit organizations that need funding to provide programs and services to communities near Johns Hopkins campuses are encouraged to submit requests for funding from the Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund. Grant proposals are due by February 15, 2011 at 5 p.m.
Part of the Johns Hopkins institutions' annual United Way of Central Maryland Campaign since 2007, the Neighborhood Fund supports nonprofit organizations that serve communities in close proximity to Johns Hopkins campuses and that are associated with Johns Hopkins through employee or institutional involvement. During the 2010 campaign, over $270,000 was designated to the Neighborhood Fund by Johns Hopkins affiliates, which will enable the fund to lend support to community organizations working to improve the lives of those in need and strengthen the neighborhoods Johns Hopkins shares with the citizens of Baltimore.
