Financing Your Child’s College Education (May 2012)

WorkLife presents, Financing Your Child’s College Education, noon to 1 pm, on Tuesday, May 8 on the Homewood campus and Tuesday, May 22 on the East Baltimore campus. Join representatives from the JHU Benefits Office to learn about the Johns Hopkins Tuition grant. For eligible employees, this generous benefit pays for 50% of each dependent child’s full-time, undergraduate tuition and universal mandatory academic fees, up to a maximum of one-half of Hopkins’ freshman undergraduate tuition.

The long planned revitalization of 88 acres north of the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore Campus is taking shape. Building on earlier accomplishments, 2012 and 2013 will usher in new restaurants, a national pharmacy, the grand opening of the upscale “929” apartment building, beautifully restored historic buildings and the construction of a $40 million public school and early childhood center. Staff Introductory Period Amended (April 2012)

Effective April 1, 2012, the introductory period is 120 days for new staff and current staff accepting a self-initiated transfer or promotion. Johns Hopkins Expands Breastfeeding Support Program (January 2012)

Johns Hopkins recognizes the positive benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child. Responding to the increasing number of women in the workforce with children under the age of three, the Office of Work, Life and Engagement is expanding the breastfeeding support program available to all full-time employees of the Johns Hopkins Institutions. Women choosing to breastfeed after returning to work can register to use Mother’s Rooms across campuses and find resources and support at www.hopkinsworklife.org/breastfeeding. More...
