Live Near Your Work Program Can Solve the Problem of Long Commute Times (April 2013)

Are you looking to buy a new home closer to work? The Office of Work, Life and Engagement is offering two opportunities to help you learn more about grants available from Johns Hopkins Live Near Your Work (LNYW), participating neighborhoods, incentives offered by Baltimore City, and the home buying process.

“Live Near Your Work gave me a chance to be the first person in my family to own a home. The grant from Johns Hopkins University, combined with other grants provided by Baltimore City, created enough funds to cover my down payment and some of the closing costs. The process was simple and painless. Now I can walk or bike to work and enjoy all of the diversity Baltimore has to offer. I’ll be forever grateful to this program for making my family’s dream of land ownership a reality.”
