Response to Programs Brightens the Holidays for Community Members

Once again, the outpouring of generosity from the Johns Hopkins community has personified the spirit of giving. Employees, retirees, and students, in addition to partners of the Johns Hopkins community, helped the Adopt-a-Family/ Adopt-a-Senior Program and the Vernon Rice Memorial Holiday Turkey Program reach record success this year by assisting more than 400 families and individuals. Applications for the 2013 Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund are Now being Accepted

United Way pledges directed to The Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund help local non-profits build stronger communities. Organizations within the Live Near Your Work footprint or a ¾ mile radius of certain Johns Hopkins campuses that provide services focused on community revitalization, education, employment, health, and/or public safety are eligible for funds. Grant applications describing the organization’s positive impact on the community require a Johns Hopkins sponsor (an employee, retiree, or student) and are due no later than Wednesday, February 13, 2013 by 5:00 p.m. More...

2013 Benefits Confirmation Statements Mailed!

Confirmation statements for 2013 benefits have been mailed to all employees who enrolled online during annual enrollment. If you determine after receiving your confirmation that your enrollment is not correct, please follow the procedure as outlined below:

    • Email the university Benefits Service Center at no later than 12/31/12 with the correction.
    • Enter "2013 Annual Enrollment Correction" in the subject line.
    • You will receive a return email acknowledging receipt of your request.
    • A corrected confirmation statement will be mailed to you in January.

Voluntary benefit enrollments are confirmed according to the coverage elected:

    • Critical Illness Insurance - MetLife will send a welcome letter and certificate of coverage.
    • Accident Insurance - Colonial Life will send a welcome information package.
    • Long Term Care - CNA will send a copy of the policy.
    • Vision Plan –an email will be sent as detailed below.

Save the Date: Summer Camp Discoveries Fair

The Office of Work, Life and Engagement will hold its annual Summer Camp Discoveries Fair from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. on Thursday, Feb. 7, in Turner Concourse on the East Baltimore campus. The fair is designed as an opportunity for prospective campers and their families to meet with local and regional camp organizations and groups offering summer activities for children ages 4 to 18. Both day and overnight programs will be represented, as will camps for individuals with special needs.
