New Workshop: Understanding Trauma and Helping Children Exposed to Violence

Need guidance on speaking with your children about tragic events such as school shootings and kidnappings? Unfortunately, kids are exposed to violence in the media. Trauma can occur in a variety of forms and has a wide spectrum of consequences depending on a number of factors to which children may be susceptible. In this workshop, representatives from the Family Tree will help us explore what constitutes trauma, examine the impact of trauma on children, and identify strategies for helping them process traumatic events.

Tuesday, October 22, East Baltimore campus, noon to 1 p.m.
Thursday, October 31, Homewood Campus, noon to 1 p.m.
