American Red Cross Blood Drives
at Johns Hopkins University

PLEASE GIVE BLOOD

The Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Region of the American Red Cross is urging all eligible donors to "Be the One We Count On" by scheduling a blood donation appointment this spring.

There is no substitute for human blood, and the need for blood does not take a vacation. It is the responsibility of the community to maintain a safe and adequate blood supply. It is only with your help that we are able to save lives each day. Thank you.

Find the nearest Hopkins drive and schedule an appointment .

Who Runs the JHU Homewood Drives?

In addition to the paid Red Cross staff members who handle the blood collection, students, staff and retirees volunteer their time to publicize and staff Homewood drives.

The university student servce groups listed below provide most of the volunteers who publicize and staff the Homewood blood drives; Hopkins ROTC also sends volunteers and recruits donors.

  • Alpha Phi Omega student service co-ed fraternity publicizes the blood drives, pre-registers donors at tables throughout the campus, and recruits student volunteers to help run the drive.

  • Circle K Club recruits volunteers and donors for the Homewood Blood Drive.

  • JHU Red Cross Corps publicizes and promotes the blood drive among the JHU student body and provides volunteers as needed for the drives.
