Hopkins Local

As the largest private anchor institution for Baltimore City, Johns Hopkins - including the Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Health System - embraces its role as an economic engine to create lasting opportunities in our city.

HopkinsLocal is a firm commitment to leverage our economic power to:

  • Increase participation of local, minority, and women-owned businesses in construction opportunities;
  • Increase our hiring of city residents;
  • Promote economic growth, job opportunities and investment in Baltimore through our purchasing activities.

Through HopkinsLocal, Johns Hopkins will build on its existing community partnerships, projects with city schools, and job training programs to sustain healthier, safer, and more vibrant communities.
